The  Science and Technology Facilities Council (link opens in a new window) (STFC) has a wealth of experience of working with industry to enable businesses of all sizes to benefit from cutting-edge research. This is achieved through knowledge exchange, by enabling industry access to large-scale facilities and through opportunities to tender for work on STFC and international sites and facilities. STFC collaborates with a wide range of companies, from the smallest of start-ups to larger international companies such as IBM and Unilever.

STFC supports scientists and engineers world-wide; delivering inspiration, impact and innovation to maximise the benefit of its research for the prosperity of the UK. The Council operates large-scale research facilities, provides strategic advice to the government and manages international research projects.

STFC has significant experience of business incubation, managing the European Space Agency Business Incubation Centre (link opens in a new window) (ESA BIC) at Harwell Oxford; and through its own award-winning incubator, the Innovations Technology Access Centre (link opens in a new window) (I-TAC).
